Since the opening of the GBJM Dongguan factory in 2019, material handling operations have been performed by different manual systems. A large number of complementary movements take place within the plant for logistical and production processes and uphold lean manufacturing principles to achieve reliable, consistent, fast, and quality raw materials and semi-finished products for the supply chain. This led the company to decide to reinforce lean efficiency and install modern AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) on trial for complete intralogistics automation with the basic need for an on-demand solution for moving materials throughout the factory.

Line Supply & Process Connection

After the current trial period of automated materials flow from the warehouse to the production line, GBJM will be implementing the standardized automation solution for assisting in production flows. Transporting raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-process products on conveyor belts and workstations, also picking them up from on-site storage at the end of the production line. Lifting pallets to and from palletizers and new automated warehouses as an end-of-line handling solution.

With AMRs on the floor, tracking transported materials or goods' progress is easy. Standard Robots' material handling solution provides a higher degree of flexibility in which Oasis AMRs can be connected to the factory's MES and other operating systems. Instead of batching all materials regardless of priority into one receiving end, materials can flow through the entire facility with process monitoring from the dispatching warehouse or with priority levels of multiple origins and destinations to ensure proper logistics and distribution. Additionally, the integration of systems allows material movement based on actual demand and enables AMRs to travel fully autonomously through automatic doors and lifts.
