DETROIT AUTOMATE 2023 | Challenges and Opportunities in the US Mobile Robot Industry

Detroit Automate, the largest robotics and automation event in North America, wrapped up on May 5, 2023. By leveraging this opportunity, Standard Robots engaged in-depth communication with global industry peers. Besides, many valuable business opportunities were seized during the exhibition, strengthening relationships with global motor giants such as General Motors Corporation, Ford, and Nissan.

There was a keen interest in the American market for robotics companies from China before 2019, but this prosperity seems to have faded due to the shock of Covid-19 pandemic, according to Jeff Burnstein, president of the Association for Advancing Automation.

It doesn’t mean that the business opportunities have decreased, but the industrial market now has more critical perspectives on new technologies and identities.

There are three things that need to be done for Chinese robots to enter the American market: must be efficient, must be affordable and must be reliable.

How has Standard Robots reached these three requirements of efficiency, affordability and reliability?

Must be Efficient

The AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) applications by Standard Robots and other renowned brands entered the market around 2015. Mature SLAM technology enables the robot to deploy quickly, and highly integrated software can fulfill multiple functions, adapting to various scenarios. These two are the main methods to improve logistics efficiency, while Standard Robots is particularly committed to their development.

Standard Robots has launched the RIoT (Robot Internet of Things) platform version 3.0, based on 7 years of manufacturing industry experience and accumulation. It can cover a workspace of 100,000 m2 and dispatch 1,000 AMRs in industrial scenarios, featuring stable operation and comprehensive scene simulation.

Must be Affordable

In May, Standard Robots unveiled its brand new Oasis E AMRs and Gulf autonomous forklifts at Guangzhou LET logistics exhibition, attracting a lot of attention and numerous consultations from customers. However, we found that the price solely doesn’t seem to be a priority factor that customers care about during the consultation. Therefore, from our perspective, "Affordable" is more like a symbol of the consistency between cost, anticipation and output.

To realize “Affordable”, Standard Robots has offered standardized and professional solutions to customers drawing on years of experience in cross-industry. Additionally, the increasing capital from sales orders has allowed us to invest more in craftsmanship and cost optimization, thereby winning customers' trust through many collaborations.

Must be Reliable

Standard Robots' earliest overseas projects were landed at 2018, and then successively delivered on in the America, specifically in Wisconsin and California, as well as in Japan, Southeast Asia, and other regions. Our professional teams provide cross-lingual, cross-cultural, cross-time and cross border services that help customers in automotive, electronics, semiconductor and pharmaceutical sectors overcome the challenges of factory automated transformation. This has become the cornerstone for Standard Robots' expansion in overseas markets.

Relying on standard, professional and agile cross-regional services and worldwide channel networks, Standard Robots will continuously lead industrial flexible revolution and accelerate factory automation transformation.
