Running from September 23 to 27, the 25th China International Industry Fair (CIIF) took place in Shanghai. Standard Robots’ embodied-AI robot DARWIN acted as a “smart factory coworker” on the show floor, drawing large crowds of attendees who stopped by for on-site interactions.

On-site at the exhibition, the embodied-AI robot DARWIN independently executes shelf-picking tasks. Built with precision-engineered joints, high degrees of freedom and an omnidirectional mobile base, it readily adapts to confined shelf spaces. Upon receiving commands, it navigates swiftly to target shelves. Its waist enables smooth 360-degree rotation, allowing precise picking of diverse randomly-placed and tightly-arranged goods.
Thanks to its dual-arm collaboration that overcomes limitations of single-arm robots, foldable structure that adapts to spaces of varying heights, and dexterous end-effectors capable of handling complex tasks, DARWIN blurs the line between dedicated and general-purpose working scenarios in human-robot collaboration. It transforms robots from fixed industrial tools into versatile intelligent super workers.
